PERSONALITY – LAGNA Vis-a-vis OTHER HOUSES - Shri Rohit Vedi

There are different methods in predictive astrology and every astrologer adopts ones own style for delineating a Horoscope accordingly. The ancient Vedic System of Vedic Jyotisha is to start with Ascendant/Lagna and in Vedic Jyotisha, Lagna is the Jataka hence it is more practical, logical and systematic than any other method or style.

            The results of the rest of the Eleven Houses/Bhava of the Horoscope are to be felt by the Lagna that is the Jataka/the person. When an astrologer says ``this person speaks harsh’ this means the Jataka speaks harsh or one can also say the astrologer is connecting the ``harsh speech’’ or relation of Second House with Lagna, in another case an astrologer says, ``this person must be rich’’, once again the astrologer is connecting `richness’ or the Dhan Yoga with Lagna and so on what so ever House/Bhava is analysed it concerns the Ascendant/Lagna or the Jataka.

            But to differentiate `Traits of Personality’ it is equally important to understand Lagna or the Jataka first. Once the Ascendant/Lagna is unfolded, means you have unlocked the right lock and have opened the Main Door, now it becomes easier to understand the behavior of the rest of the Eleven Houses or any House in question for an Astrologer.

            To delineate and unfold the Lagna or Jataka the students apply all the Sutra of Vedic Jyotisha mentioned by our Maharishi / Sages like Rashi, Bhava, Bhavesh, Karaka, Varga Charts etc. But when it comes to practical it is just not the mere application of Sutra as read & remembered; it is an art, how beautifully one can blend the different Sutra all together, so that when astrologer describes `Traits of Personality’ the Jataka or the person responds with wonder and excitement, `yes, yes, that is me, I am like that, I behave like that, I true, etc. etc. Oh my God it is all true, this astrology! What a science; Sir you have described me exactly what I am or parents reacts a step further; Sir you have described our child better than what we know, even we do not know so minutely about our own child being the parents, is this all written in the Janampatri Sir! These are some reactions, automatically pronounced with an impression and expression of wonder clearly seen on their face.

            At the same time this acts in multifold:

1.      It sends a message to the Jataka or the Parents, in keeping their faith & trust in Ancient Vedic Jyotisha.

2.      It guides the Jataka to live a better life onwards and to prepare in advance for the time to come.

3.      It creates interest to learn and promotes this Ancient Vedic Jyotisha among the common people.

4.      It builds confidence in the students.

5.      Students also learn by themselves the Golden Lesson - ``there is no short-cut in Predictive Astrology’’

6.      More you put efforts better results & perfection you achieve.

7.      Always be humble, polite, gentile, patient and positive attitude while giving prediction.

8.      For every correct prediction always prostrate before the Maharishi, Veda, Shastra, your Isht Devata and your Guru for it is their blessings.

9.      Any wrong prediction is yours; try to find out you mistake.

But it is not that easy when it come to practical, one learns by experience of dedicated hard working and blending of different aspects and tools mentioned by Maharishi in Shastra. I will try to explain some of them here;

1.      Find which factor out of Dharma – Artha – Kaama – Moksha is dominating the Jataka, accordingly the ultimate interest & intension will lead the Jataka and so will be his/her psychology.

2.      Signs are assigned in Tatwa Agni-Prithvi-Vayu-Jala.

3.      Tri-Guna Shakti analysis of – Satto Gun – Rajo Gun – Tamo Gun. The one with more power out of three-powers finally leaves its characteristics. All these three powers or Gunas dominate their respective characteristics directly related to their Origin.

4.      Origin of Graha from Puraan will make one understand why planets behaves in a particular manner and are assigned some typical characteristic to perform.

5.      Now one can understand the effect of different planets imparting their characteristic & psychology onto the Jataka called Self-esteem/self-image or Ego.

6.      Maharishi has assigned different Names to the Graha in different Divisional Charts which has a great meaning to the particular planet in that Division and is very useful clue in prediction.

For example in Navamsha-               Dhatu – Moola – Jeeva

                                                                Deva – Nara – Rakshas

            In the same manner Pushkar Navamsha has its own credentials.
