GOMUKHI AND SINGHAMUKHI (LION-FACED) PLOTS ( Suman Sachdeva - Course Director International Vastu Academy )
The ultimate dream of a person after finding the means of livelihood is to have a home for himself. For the fulfillment of this he has to overcome numerous obstacles and false notions that come in his way.
The commonly encountered and heard notions are regarding the purchase of plots. The general opinion is that a `Gomukhi’ (cow-faced) plot is best for housing and `singha/naharmukhi’ (lion-faced) plot is best suited for industrial purposes although the actual concept is something different. According to the vastu rule only square and rectangular plots are acceptable and any extension or deduction in these is considered a dosha or fault (except the extension of ishaana) i.e. North-East surprisingly, many facts are brought out when an elaborate study of Gomukhi plots on the basis of directions is done which otherwise is couriered appropriate.
This is a Gomukhi and north facing plot. In this plot Ishaana (north-east) and Vaayvya (north-west) are curtailed. As a result, difference of opinion in the family members is observed. Owner of the house will bear mental strain. Womenfolk will have to be the breadwinner and there will be persistent financial strain. Due to curtailment of the north-east angle, along with financial problems not only chances of serious accidents and problems with authorities will prevail but some untimely deaths can also occur.
Although it is a south facing, Gomukhi plot even then it is unlucky because its `Aaganya’ (south-east) and `Nairitya’ (south-west) angles have curtailment. Due to curtailment in North-West corner, man of the house will gradually lose his hold not only on this plot but on his other assets as well and ultimately be forced to sell them off, loss of social reputation and continued financial loss will be there. Curtailed `Aaganya’ or South-East angle brings financial loss, mental stress and an impatient atmosp here. The man of the house will no longer be trusted by his family and will always bear doubts.
In the above mentioned plots both `Ishaana’ (North-east) and `Vaayvya’ (North-west) angles are extended. Although an extended Ishaana brings prosperity but along side the extended Vaayvya finishes up wealth & prosperity, increases enmity, legal disputes, lowers income and keeps a persistent state of over expenditure.
This plot has Aagnya (south-east) and Naritya (south-west) angles are extended.
Extended Aagnya leads to personal conflicts, financial disputes and problems in professional relationships. Extended Natritya is the cause of constant money loss, a disgraced reputation in the society obstacles in offspring’s progress along with sometimes being the main cause of child loss.
The above quoted explanation makes it clear that a plot associated `good & bad’ notions can turn out to be detrimental for the owner. That is why at the time of purchase of plot only square and rectangular plot should be bought.
